Out Reach
We partner with several organizations in the West Houston area on a recurring basis. If you are interested in volunteering, need more information, or would like to explore more areas of ministry, please contact the church.
WHAM (West Houston Area Ministries)WHAM provides basic needs and skills training while promoting self sufficiency for families in West Houston. They operate a Food Pantry for those who qualify as well as a store that sells second hand items to help fund their ministries. Ascension collects food on the first Sunday of each month for the Food Pantry as well as supplys a team to work in the Food Pantry on the 3rd Saturday of every month to repackage and sort food for the Food Pantry.

This is a non-profit organization that operates a complex of facilities in Spring Branch to offer a full range of services for abused and homeless women and children. We provide lunch once a month on the first Saturday of the month-Lunch with Friends. We prepare the food on the first Friday and serve it on the first Saturday. We also hold work days to help them around the campus with projects as well as assist with Christmas by providing gifts cards and presents for the residents and toys for the children.

Annual Outreach Events
We participate in the Angel Tree Program, which gathers gifts for area children and elderly who would otherwise not receive Christmas presents. Known to Ascensionites as the “Forgotten Seniors,” we concentrate on those elderly who are without. The wish lists are given to parishioners, who go out and purchase the items. The gifts are then given to the Salvation Army, which in turn distributes them to the needy. If not for this ministry of gift gathering, there are many who would not experience Christmas.
